In an era when most computer games pitted humans against computer-controlled players, my friend and master game programmer Danielle Bunten Berry created Robot Rascals, a game that could only be played with other people. This combination scavenger hunt and card collection game not only featured an unprecedented level of interaction, but could also be played with others over a slow telephone modem connection years before the Internet was used for such things.

I had the honor of working with Danielle to develop this game, contributing to script and character development, game rules, card and icon design, and test play sessions. In the process, I received personal insight into the process of video game scripting and programming from one of the masters of the genre.
