Da Vinci Tarot Kit

Written by Mark McElroy

What fun! After artists Iassen Ghiuselev and Atanas A. Atanassov created a series of 78 Tarot images in the style of Da Vinci, notes on which images were based on which works were lost!

My work — creating the short book for this deck — involved hours of research painstakingly matching up Ghiuselev and Atanassov’s images with the works that inspired them, followed by reasoning out how the details of an illustrations aligned with the associated Tarot card. Solving this puzzle made me feel like a character in the Da Vinci Code!

The deck is still available, though the kit (combining my book with the deck) is long out of print. Be aware many online retailers are selling only the cards, often at inflated prices!
